The TBS Conference starts at 8am on Monday, April 3rd. We recommend that you arrive in the city of Rio de Janeiro at least one day before. Please see below for hotel recommendations, along with travel guidance for travel by plane or bus.
THE ADDRESS
Very important: When getting an Uber or taxi to the event, please use the following address: Av. Celia Ribeiro da Silva Mendes 600, Barra. Be very careful because there is a street with the same name in a district called “Recreio” and this will take you far from where you want to go.
ARRIVING BY PLANE
Rio de Janeiro has two airports: International Airport Tom Jobim (GIG) and Airport Santos Dumont (SDU).
Rio’s famous international airport, at Ilha do Governador. 32,9km from TBS Barra. 35 minutes to 1 hour ride, according to traffic.
A smaller airport, downtown Rio, also hosts international flights. 36,3km from TBS Barra. 45 minutes to 1 hour ride, according to traffic.
ARRIVING BY BUS
Rio de Janeiro’s main bus station is Rodoviária Novo Rio at Avenida Francisco Bicalho 1, Santo Cristo. 30,5km from TBS Barra. 35 minutes to 1 hour ride according to traffic.
IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN RIO
You can go by car, and park right outside the school’s main gate. Please be aware that spaces are limited.
You can use public transport: take the Metrô to Estação Jardim Oceânico. Once there, leave through exit C and take a BRT bus to Santa Monica Jardins station. From there, walk along Rua Jurandir Pires to Rua Mario Autuori 285, a side entrance to the school (aprox. 8 minutes walk). If the access gate is locked please ring the bell.
If you prefer to take a city bus, choose one that will bring you to Vogue Square Mall. Once at Vogue Square mall you can follow the directions above.
We highly recommend you stay as close to the Conference as possible. We have two suggestions of hotels in the Barra da Tijuca area.
