Katy Freeman

Originally from Dorset in the UK Katy is a Bachelor of Education graduate from Westminster College Oxford. She began her teaching career in 1997 in Birmingham. In 1999 she moved to the Dominican Republic to teach at Abraham Lincoln school.

Katy has spent the last 25 years teaching internationally in countries such as Kathmandu (The British School,) Nigeria (Shell [oil company] schools in Warri and Portharcourt) Russia (Sakhalin International School) and currently teaching in South Korea at Seoul Foreign British School.

The majority of her teaching has been in early years and she has been part of schools following the IPC curriculum since 2006. In 2016 she supported Sakhalin International School in mastering accreditation in 2nd Edition IPC Self Review and then in 2017 she helped implement the IEYC at the same school.

In 2018 she moved to South Korea where she implemented the IEYC at her current school Seoul Foreign British School which received recognition in November 2022. In February 2022 she was part of an IEYC accreditation team and has run IEYC information workshops British Council, parents, neighbouring schools, and has also been a mentor for student teachers.
